For Coquitlam residents and families who are looking for to live near natural greenbelts, larger lots and a quiet natural residential neigbhourhoods, the upscale areas of north Coquitlam including Westwood Plateau, Hockaday, Burke Mountain and the smaller Park Ridge Estates should be high on your list. Westwood Plateau is composed of detached homes, townhomes and a smaller selection of condos, all with a mild slope or incline. While nearby Hockaday is a true forested sanctuary with mostly single family homes. Further east, the Burke Mountain neighbourhood has seen significant development and rezoning with many homes on a greenbelt, the perfect location for nature lovers and trail hikers. And finally, secluded Park Ridge Estates in north Coquitlam is cut into the side of Burke Mountain with a smaller selection of single family homes.

Bus service in north Coquitlam easily connects to the Lafarge Douglas College Skytrain Station – the terminus for the newly extended Evergreen Skytrain Line, the Millennium Line Extension at Lougheed Town Centre. The 10.9 km extension that connects to much of Metro Vancouver, means a trip into the city will take less than 40 minutes. Nearby is the West Coast Express, a traditional commuter rail service to downtown Vancouver.
