The ever growing Collingwood community is one of the earliest developed neighbourhood’s in east Vancouver. It’s a family oriented area of the city where English, Vietnamese, Filipino and Chinese languages represent Canada’s remarkable cultural mosaic.
Attractive to growing families, the Collingwood neighbourhood includes five elementary schools as part of the Vancouver School Board. Killarney Secondary School and the main campus of BCIT in Burnaby are close-by.
Collingwood on the Burnaby border is located with Boundary Road to the east, 29th Avenue to the north, Nanaimo Street on the west and 41st Avenue to the south.
Traditionally Collingwood has been a neighbourhood with mainly single family homes. In the past decade, tremendous growth has come to the area with a large increase in density. Collingwood Village completed in 2006 with 16 condo and rental buildings, is an excellent example of transit oriented development. Wall Centre Central Park Project, a series of 3 condominium towers planned for the neighbourhood, will feature green rooftoops, community gardens and easy transit access. In addition, a new tower from Westbank is proposed for the corner of Joyce & Vaness.
…Collingwood dining continues to attract more and more Vancouver residents
Collingwood Neighbourhood House with its First Nations’ totems on display, is a popular destination for music, dance, arts, gardening and food oriented activities. Close by is Central Park in Burnaby with Swangard Stadium and a popular pitch and putt. In addition, the ice arena at Killarney Park is a short commute away.
Great dining and shopping are right on the doorstep of Collingwood residents with Metrotown, Crystal Mall and the diverse shops and services of Vancouver’s Kingsway Street. Be it congee noodles, deep fried prawns or a spicy Indian curry, Collingwood dining continues to attract more and more Vancouver residents.
Proudly wearing its East Van heritage, Collingwood has been shaped by our city’s transportation needs. Quick access to downtown Vancouver, points west or Metrotown is easily accessible by car, Coast Mountain bus or rapid transit aboard Skytrain. Recent upgrades to the Joyce-Collingwood Station include new elevators and escalators, improved lighting & visibility and new secure parking areas for bicycles.

The MLS® HPI Benchmark Prices shown below represent the current expected sales price for a typical or “Benchmark” home in a given neighbourhood.
The MLS® HPI takes into consideration what averages and medians do not – items such as lot size, age, number of rooms, etc. The most commonly traded set of these attributes describes the composite of the typical or ‘benchmark’ property type in a given area. Prices paid for homes with these attributes determine benchmark home prices.
The MLS® Home Price Index is modelled on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) which measures the rate of price change for a basket of goods and services including food, clothing, shelter, and transportation. Instead of measuring goods and services, the HPI measures the change in the price of housing features. Thus, the HPI measures typical, pure price change (inflation or deflation).
The graph below charts the historical Home Price Index over a 3 year period.
Quick Tip: Click on a property type in the chart’s legend to dynamically remove or add that line to the chart.
