The Fraserview neighbourhood tucked away in the south eastern part of Vancouver proper, encompasses a large area of predominantly single family and new condo & townhome developments. Multiculturally diverse, Fraserview has many middle class Asian families enjoying the education and economic opportunities of the city. In addition, families from the Philippines, Vietnam & South East Asia call Fraserview home.
Elementary schools located in the Fraserview neighbourhood include Sir James Douglas featuring a hot ‘Munch A Lunch’ program and James Douglas Annex with K to 3. David Oppenheimer School on Nanaimo Street offers grades from K to 7. A majority of local high school students attend David Thompson Secondary located on 55th Avenue to the north. Popular private schools further west and appearing on the Fraser Institute’s top fifteen in BC list include Vancouver College, Little Flower Academy & York House schools.
The Fraserview neighbourhood in south east Vancouver is bordered by 54 Avenue to the north, Kerr Street to the east, along South East Marine Drive to the south and Knight Street in the west.
With over 30,000 residents who live in the Fraserview neighbourhood, you’ll discover many homes built in the 1940s when land was assigned for returning veterans from WWll. By the 1980s, formerly industrial land gave way to new many new townhomes and apartments. Today Fraserview is dominated by detached homes, with some townhomes and increasingly more condos is the neighbourhood – some on City of Vancouver leasehold land resulting in slightly lower prices. Numerous townhome and low-rise condo complexes can be found, popular with young families and older residents. Fraserview is also across from the all new River District – a master planned community along the banks of the mighty Fraser.

With the picturesque Fraser River close by, jogging, cycling and dog walking beckon for Fraserview residents at Gladstone and Riverfront Parks. Bobolink Park in the neighbourhood has two soccer pitches, a softball field, wading pool & playground for kids. For golf enthusiasts, Fraserview Golf Course and Driving Range is a challenging 18 hole course open to the public year round and run by the Vancouver Park Board. The local Vancouver Public Library on Argyle features computers, free public Wi-Fi and collections in Chinese, Punjabi & Vietnamese.
Just a short drive north of the Fraserview neighbourhood, you’ll find an eclectic mix of stores and Mom and Pop restaurants along Victoria Drive. Be it Dim Sum, Japanese Ramen or authentic Barbecued Duck, you’ll find it on full display as part of Vancouver’s remarkable cultural mosaic. At the entrance to the ever expanding River District, Romer’s Burger Bar is a popular spot for locals. Minutes away just off Marine you’ll find a Starbucks, Save-On-Foods & Everything Wine, voted best ‘Private Wine Store’ in Georgia Strait’s Best of Vancouver awards. Kitty corner to the Fraserview neighbourhood at Kerr & SE Marine Drive is the new River District’s Farmers Market, the only riverfront market in Vancouver.
Fraserview in south Vancouver is central to most everything, taking just 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver, just over 10 minutes to Richmond and approximately 10 minutes to Metrotown in Burnaby. Marine Drive connects to YVR and Highway 99 south to the US border. Translink bus service provides regular service along Knight Street, Marine Drive & Victoria Drive.
