The family-friendly neighbourhoods in the Lynn Valley area of North Vancouver are located with Fromme Mountain to the north, picturesque Lynn Canyon Park and Suspension Bridge to the east, Upper Levels Highway and Mountain Highway to the south and Regent Drive in Princess Park to the west. Since the 1950s, families have found their way to Lynn Valley and the surrounding neighbourhoods sporting scenic trails, private cul-de-sacs and substantial tree-filled lots. Bragging rights include the unofficial World Mountain Biking Capital and fresh air galore. Known for generations as the ‘North Shore‘ or ‘North Van‘, quality of life in the Lynn Valley region is great, where generations of families grow up together knowing each others’ names.
These six MLS districts of North Van are never far from the shops and services of Lynn Valley Centre with easy access to Vancouver and Highway 1 via the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge. A biking, hiking and dog walking paradise with skiing, snowboarding and sightseeing nearby. Spectacular by nature, Lynn Canyon Park and Lynn Canyon Headwaters Regional Park means there’s so much more on the North Shore when it comes to raising your family. In addition, excellent public and private schools, a new library at Lynn Valley Centre and good bus service from TransLink add to the appeal. Above all, breathtaking views from numerous large luxurious homes looking to the south and south east.
The Lynn neighbourhood is located on the western and upper reaches on District of North Vancouver, with Mt. Fromme to the north, the Upper Levels Highway to the south, Lynn Creek to the east and Braemar Road/Regent Ave/Tempe Crescent to the west.
The Lynn Valley area with its exclusive North Van neighbourhoods were generally built between the 1950s and 1970s, with the majority of properties being single-family detached homes on large lots. Today with many new luxury homes and renos, the high end homes of the area offer a real alternative to better known neighbourhoods such as Edgemont Village. Private cul-de-sacs and dead end streets are popular choices for today’s discriminating buyer. Neighbourhoods such as Westlynn also offer a good mix of condos and townhomes to fit your budget.
All of the neighbourhoods in and around the eastern section of North Vancouver have convenient access to the Lynn Valley Shopping Centre, Lynn Valley Village and Lynn Valley Mall. Several types of retail include two major grocery retailers, liquor store, bakeries, meat market, garden centre and more. Searching for sushi or a quick cappuccino, the Lynn Valley Centre is the local shopping mecca. The Lynn Valley Village anchored by the Lynn Valley Public Library is a popular patio meeting place for coffee, a farmers market and an outdoor summer concert series. Another option for residents is the Park & Tilford Shopping Centre at the foot of Mountain Highway with a grocery store, wine shop and movie theatre.
