For Coquitlam residents and families who are looking for to live near natural greenbelts, larger lots and a quiet natural residential neigbhourhoods, the upscale areas of north Coquitlam including Westwood Plateau, Hockaday, Burke Mountain and the smaller Park Ridge Estates should be high on your list. Westwood Plateau is composed of detached homes, townhomes and a smaller selection of condos, all with a mild slope or incline. While nearby Hockaday is a true forested sanctuary with mostly single family homes. Further east, the Burke Mountain neighbourhood has seen significant development and rezoning with many homes on a greenbelt, the perfect location for nature lovers and trail hikers. Nearby is the West Coast Express, a traditional commuter rail service to downtown Vancouver.

Westwood Plateau, Hockaday, Burke Mountain and Park Ridge Estates are desirable neighbourhoods for true nature lovers. The small man-made Lafarge Lake is a popular destination for dog walking, kids or seniors. Every spring it is stocked with fish.
